A Dylan poem book will be issued

Bob Dylan and El Apostolado from El Greco. A Barry Feinstein photography.

Spanish version

The literary talent of Bob Dylan so claimed, discussed and even prized with a Pulitzer is widely accepted . And this time, we will have time to confirm and enjoy it. A book with 23 poems of his own, never published before, and that was in a drawer for more than 30 years, will be issued.

The poems that will be part of a photography book, were found by Barry Feinstein, a well known photographer in the music scene, who, while checking his archives and papers in his Woodstock home, found the poems with 75 photos.

In those years (60's), Feinstein encouraged Dylan to write notes for his photographs (that would be published soon in a book). The poems were born then.

The book will be issued next november with the title: “Hollywood Foto-Rhetoric: The Lost Manuscript.

Soul songwriter Isaac Hayes dies

Spanish version

Once of the big voices of the soul has gone. Isaac Hayes whose baritone voice and enchantement was an important influence in the american music from the 70's on, was found dead in his home in Memphis, Tennesee.

His life was full of happy and desperated stories, however, his talent wrapped all, and, with the years accuired and an enough artistic maturity reached with them, he became the top voice of Stax Records, the music company who spreaded soul, funky and R&B, rythms, ignored for the "white" radio stations in the early times.

Otis Reading, Sam & Dave, Booker T & The MG's, The Staples, John Taylor are some of the names who are known below this company but, among all of them, Hayes used to shine with all his splendor.

For those one who don't know who is him even with these dates above, we can point iut also that Hayes was the voice for "Chef" the character in the irreverent cartoon South Park.

Here, in our Dylan window, as a sort of homage, we publish a video of the song that Hayes composed for the movie Shaft, with whom he would win an Academy Award for Best Song.

Joe Satriani in Lima

Spanish version

Lima, our little great city will see tonight (in some hours) the mytical guitarist Joe Satriani, considered one of the best musicians ever.

Satriani is not only a experimentalist that have given the best contribution to the genre of instrumental music based in guitar. He even have colaborated with the creation of some intruments in the eternal pursue of new sounds, like the Peavey JSX amp.

Many people consider his style like too much technical, or too much cold even but it cannot be denied the high quality of his arrangements in Surfing with the Alien (his best known album) nor the big influence he has left as inheritance in musicians that conform top bands in the heavy metal scene today like Metallica and Megadeth.

I will post videos of the great concert soon.
